Sigitas Sniras (b. 1959) is well known in Lithuania as a graphic designer. He worked as a designer in the Vilnius University Theatre and “Vyturys” and “Mintis” publishing houses. After Lithuania regained its independence, Sigitas founded his own design studio and expanded his activities. His range of work grew from book illustration (over 150 books, 60 CDs) to work in television, graphic and scenic design for major music events, such as the TV show, “Vakarelis Jums” and popular Vilnius, Visaginas, Druskininkai, Siauliai, Juodkrantë, Nida Music Festivals. Sigitas was commissioned by some outstanding Lithuanian musicians and music groups: “SEL”, “Pelenai”, Gytis, Arina, Vytautas Kernagis, and Lithuanian Chamber Orchestra, conducted by Saulius Sondeckis among others. In 2001, Sigitas was invited to work in the “Klasky Csupo” animation studio in Hollywood, USA. He performed quite a big role in creating animated films. “The Wild Thornberrys Movie” and “Rugrats Go Wild”. For a few years from 2002 he worked as an art director in the “Art Territory International” art gallery. At this time, Sigitas continues his career as a book illustrator. One of his major recent projects was illustrations for the children’s book by Vytautas V. Landsbergis “Arklio Dominyko kelione i zvaigzdes”. Sigitas Sniras participated in many group shows and had a number of solo exhibitions. In the fall of 2008, his print “Okeano gimimas” (The Birth of an Ocean) was exhibited at the “Brand Library Art Galleries” in Glendale, CA and won a prestigious second prize.
